The Gulf Stream is Just South of Key West and like a snake it meanders in and out. This week we got into the stream just 8 miles off the reef line of Key West and the deep sea fishing was spectacular. On this particular day we were scheduled for a 4 hour trip. Typically we will stay a little closer to the reef for the sure bet and time line. However we felt that the best fishing was in a bout 600 ft of water. The trolling conditions were perfect with 1-2 ft seas and light winds out of the South East. So off we went. We found some amazing blue water and flying fish were everywhere. 

Adjusting our spread we decided to go naturals. Trolling all rigged natural ballyhoo. We mixed it up a little with a Iland witch pink and a Iland Seastar blue with a  few naked ballyhoo in the mix. We hit pay dirt. For the next 2 hours we were picking off some really nice sized mahi mahi for our folks and they wound up putting one of them on the wall with our taxidermy. I cannot say which was a favorite. I am pretty sure they all got eaten.  It was a huge bit of fun for sure with double hook ups and some great drag burning.
